FOUNDER BARB IN RAPID CITY AND SIOUX FALLS, SD

I was born and raised in Deadwood and moved to Rapid City in 1980. Like many young women of my generation, I spent some early career time doing reception and bookkeeping work, then carved out a successful niche for myself in the early, booming years of the cell phone/telecom industry and becoming part of a construction family. 


 Along the way, I spent several years traveling western South Dakota as a "books ambassador," delivering specialty books to scores of schools, broadening horizons, and fostering dreams for many teachers and their students. 

 Knowing inside I was an entrepreneur, I eventually spent seven years as the owner-operator of my own fresh juice and smoothie bar in Rapid City, learning much and facing down daily challenges. 


 My exposure to the construction industry and several years of part-time bookkeeping for a home inspector gave me a keen awareness of the health risks of radon exposure. This awareness led me to launch Rushmore Radon in 2019, ready to serve you. As the sole proprietor and single mom of two young adults, Logan (24) and Lexi (20), I want you to know your business is much appreciated!
